YouTube is a sometimes underrated social media platform by
companies. YouTube gets on average 1 billion views a day. This is a different
social media platform because in order to succeed you need to be profoundly
creative, if not your content is just content and will not get attention.
Today we are going to look at how both Caribou Coffee and
Nescafe use YouTube.
Caribou Coffee

| The Caribou Coffee YouTube Page (https://www.youtube.com/user/cariboucoffeecompany/featured) |
Caribou Coffee has around 450 subscribers on YouTube, with
only 5 videos dating back to 5 months ago. Before I go in depth let’s take a
look at their content.
Four of the videos on the page are of Minnesota Wild team
member Zach Parise wishing Caribou Coffee customer’s happy holidays (Shot from
a Smartphone)… and the other is a local commercial…
Where to start…
Why do they need 4 videos of the Zach Parise saying happy
holidays? Why is this relevant to Caribou Coffee? Why were they all were
uploaded the same day at the same time? Two words content overload.
Caribou Coffee averages 240 views per video with their most
viewed video of Zach’s message cut short coming in at 1,170 views at 16 seconds
in length.
I am rather unimpressed with Caribou Coffee’s content on
YouTube. 1/10 there is no effort put into this page.
Nescafe

| The Nescafe YouTube Page (https://www.youtube.com/user/nescafe/featured) |
Nescafe has a generally different YouTube page. They have
1700 subscribers and an average 5000 views on their videos. Their most viewed
video is a 360 degree walk through of a Brazilian coffee farm (35,000 Views). Nescafe
only posts commercials and infomercials on their channel.
The reason I say Nescafe has a different YouTube page is
because their subscriber count does not match their views per video average.
There is a reason behind this, YouTube Ads. Nescafe is paying for views. Paying
for views can generally work if done well and if there is a budget to back it
up.
Overall score 3/10.
Conclusion
Both pages are rather unimpressive, however there must be a
winner. Nescafe may be paying to win but at least they have content. Although
their content is nothing too special it certainly is more substantial than
Caribou Coffee’s.

Nescafe obviously has the win in this! My dad loves it! Thanks for the great content.
