Caribou Coffee vs. Nestle SEO Comparisson

Introduction

SEO is an important consideration for marketers because without proper SEO your companies big fancy website with the greatest ideas will mean nothing if your customers cannot find it.  In the Coffee Industry Using keyword sentences throughout their sites like “Gourmet Coffee, Best Coffee Brand and Coffee Bean”. In the quest of the Best Coffee Expirience these two brands are competing in a highly competitive market so it would make sense for a successful coffee company to have outstanding SEO presence. Nestle is a bigger company than Caribou so results may vary. The objective is to determine which of the two sites when compared has a stronger SEO.

Caribou coffee shows everything on their first page and allows you to see different promotions they have going on, there are separate pages for their products as well.
Nescafe is a page where you have to scroll down to find its contents, from the opening image you may not know their products are below. Looks like a Support page

Looking at the relation between coffee beans and Nescafe Nescafe seems to be above the coffee bean industry however in 2013 – 2014 coffee bean Spiked above Nescafe. I believe this is because Nescafe is a national brand. Caribou Coffee is not able to keep up with the online presence of the coffee industry due to the fact they are a small company who is only starting to expand in North America.

Latent Semantic Indexing Keywords:

Nescafe
1.       Nespresso Coffee – is found under the products that they sell and is referenced plenty of times on the page.
2.       Most Trusted Coffee – Is found on the slideshow of some of their coffee products.
3.       K-cups – is found on their product lineup many times on the page
Caribou Coffee
1.       Cafes Near Me – Caribou is known for its vast locations across America
2.       Gourmet Coffee – Can be found in the Meta tags and Summarizes the options offered at Caribou Coffee
3.       Coffee Shops open 24 hours – Not found on the main page but comes up plenty of times in the meta data and the LSI search

Summary:

Caribou Coffee’s strengths are its use of Key words, and its Established links. Lancôme strengths are its use of brand popularity within its Keywords. Nescafe and Caribou Coffee have two different styles and formats to their website. Nescafe is more of a shop while Caribou is more of a get to know us and our product page. Caribou has heavy reliance on its keywords such as: Premium Coffee, Gourmet coffee, and Best coffee company. Whereas Nescafe is already a popular brand and their use of keywords revolve around their Products such as: Nespresso, Nescafe Instant coffee. Nescafe is trending above the search for coffee bean on google where Caribou is lacking in searches and is not as popular. On paper Caribou looks like it has better SEO however Nescafe still manages to be above in popularity and page visits.

Conclusion:

In the coffee industry, Caribou Coffee and Nescafe are on total opposite ends of scale. Caribou is more of a niche coffee brand where Nescafe is known worldwide. Caribou Coffees Key words are very vague and are keywords that would be placed in the highly competitive ranking on Google add words, whereas Nescafe focuses their keywords on their products due to its popularity and brand recognition. All though Caribou coffee’s SEO looks allot better on paper compared to Nescafe the winner of the SEO over view will have to go to Nescafe, due to the fact that Caribous Key words make it very hard to find in a google search.

Introduction

SEO is an important consideration for marketers because it gives them insight regarding organizations and their online presence.  In the Canadian coffee industry, both Tim Hortons and Maxwell House coffee are virtually everywhere.  Using keyword sentences throughout their sites like “Coffee, Espresso & Coffee Roaster” I have found that both sites use similar SEO with regards to their coffee. Because Tim Hortons is an international café and Maxwell House is a product under the craft brand, it will be interesting to determine how these brands rank comparably when considering SEO. The objective is to determine which of the two sites when compared has a stronger SEO.

According to the Google trends graph, it can be said that Tim Hortons clearly trumps Maxwell House with regard to interest over time. With that said, it should also be noted that although Tim Hortons holds more interest over time, it remains a minimal fraction of the interest in coffee as a whole. It seems that over the past 12 months interest in Maxwell House has not significantly changed whereas Tim Hortons seemed to have had an increase in interest nearing the end of 2015.

Maxwell House: “Maxwell House job opportunities”, “Maxwell House coffee on sale”, “Coupons for Maxwell House”.

Summary:

By utilizing Google AdWords and LSI I found that there are many keywords surrounding both brands. When using coffee related key words such as “ Coffee beans, espresso and coffee roaster”, Tim Hortons would show up on Google at least 3 pages ahead of Maxwell House. Based on the graph produced by Google Trends I was able to determine that the interest over time regarding the two brands differ drastically – Tim Hortons clearly having the edge.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the coffee industry is gargantuan in size. There are literally hundreds of thousands of competitors within this industry and Tim Hortons and Maxwell House both have quite large customer bases. With that said, their online presences and SEO do differ drastically. Tim Horton’s is clearly doing a better job with regards to their SEO as they appear on low to mid Google search pages and cover more keywords.  Maxwell House is considerably limited with regards to SEO and does not appear as frequently on Google Search.
